muskoka dream

i have spent every summer of my life here in muskoka. it didn't matter where we lived, we always found our way back to this neck of the woods. now we are living just a short drive to my favorite place on earth. i don't actually get there as often as i had hoped i would, but i am ok with that. i think it is because i just feel better knowing that i could be there in 20 minutes...anytime i want to. so close. we've been here almost 2 years and i still can't stop smiling.

we are really enjoying the fresh air and the clean water and the huge fluffy white clouds and the clear bright blue sky. oh my gosh and the night sky is beyond amazing. our neighbours have finally realized the beauty in turning off their outdoor lights. so now, on a clear night, before i hit the sheets...i pause at the window and look up. it makes me smile. i am living the dream!

summer lovin'

the days are lovely and long. so nice to enjoy a full day...waking up to the sound of birds singing and falling asleep to the frogs peepin' in the creek. the garden is looking so full and green. we've seen the beginnings of a bit of summer colour too. the peonies are still blooming. my hydrangea is starting to open. shasta daisies are so tall this year, everything is huge...we've had ample amounts of rain. i haven't had to do any watering.

the deer have eaten some of my lilies...funny how they pick on some while leaving others untouched. they know what is yummy i suppose. at first i was very upset, but then i remembered the little bambi that was out front the other day. i'm just going to keep telling myself ...bambi ate them...how can anyone be mad at bambi?
i found a solution to the problem. i will post it later.
