little suprise

on the way home from town i stopped to get the mail. there was a little parcel waiting in the box! what?.....more?.....for me?
and what a nice gift i found it to be. little note cards with a vintage theme. i have not mentioned the fact that i am addicted to stationary as well as magazines.
i also have a large collection of paper napkins...many different designs for every kind of occasion. this would be a good time to note that i also seem to enjoy sharpies, stickers, magnets, gift wrapping supplies, beads, scrapbook stuff, buttons and anything shiny.
anyway, to get back on track....thank you. i love my beautiful card collection.
it is raining like crazy today. the snow is fading away. you'd think i have nothing much to do today (two posts!) but i have a kitchen to paint. and a hall or two (or three). this all needs to be done by the time the gardens are ready to play in. focus.
i can't.
i'm going to go look at my new stuff again.

add one more

well it was my birthday on saturday and the whole thing came and went just as i wished it would. nothing fancy. no party. just a relaxing weekend. had some visitors pop in for a bit. received some lovely gifts. elsie and i took off for the ski hill because it was our last chance and the day was sooooo beautiful. i should have taken my camera. anyhoooo....i am rushing this post and i shouldn't, but i need to run to town and grab some food. we are out of everything. all that is left is a birthday cake and some ranch dressing.....
so, i am 39.

hmmmm.
emma and elsie, i love my jammies and my smellicious creams. thank you. i love you girls...
i am a lucky mommy.
i need to do some thinking, about being 39.
i feel a list coming on.

thank you

i'm guessing that my positive thinking has payed off. these little angels caught my eye just a moment ago and boy you sure missed a happy dance! GO AWAY SNOW.....thank you very much for everything you've done for us, but really.........

oh snow.....

this is what i see when i look out the window. march 27th and no sign of spring in muskoka. two days ago we received another winter storm and it left this mess to clean up. i know that living in the north means that we have to deal with this and i do love winter, but this one has been long. it arrived in november and it hasn't gone away yet. i do not want to know how many weeks that adds up to. the skiing has been great and it has been very pretty to look at. really though, i am over it. completely over it.

so i have decided that my chicky girlfriends are going to stick around a while longer. i refuse to see them go until there is a patch of green out there in the yard somewhere. i do believe in spring and if i keep on thinking positive i know it will arrive. thankfully the temperature is rising and i have been able to crack the windows open. this helps. maybe i can get all my spring cleaning done by the time this snow all melts...
did i forget to mention that more snow is on it's way?
november, december, january, february, march..............

feeling like a spring chick

Being new to the blogging thing, well it can be a little intimidating. Oh my gosh these women I have discovered!!! I love what they are doing, what they are creating and what they are talking about. I am feeling a little shy about it all. It's reminding me of highschool. Wanting so badly to fit it, but "lacking self confidence" (I have already talked about this back a while ago). I am just saying, for the record, that I absolutely am NOT thinking that I am one of these creative superstars. That is not my goal here.

The level of talent I am seeing in these women is so amazing. It is inspiring. It is addictive. Don't think for a minute that my L.S.C. (lack of self confidence) is going to stop me from wanting to bring this creativity into my life. Don't think it will cause me to not want to share my early stages of craftiness. I'm sure the day will come when I will be proud enough to post a photo of perhaps a lovely sock puppet or paint by number beauty. Perhaps I will have some fun with my hot glue gun and want to show it off. But FOR THE RECORD, I am not in this for the money or the fame.

This is just my little blog......... about my little life.

p.s....almost forgot

so bev (hi friend!) and i were chatting today and she agrees with me that i should get crafty. i was thinking about my toaster cover and i wondered if this was something i could do. she thought aprons, i thought tea towels. the possibilities are endless. i can sew. i can draw. they are so cute. hmmmmmm. pondering. i am so inspired by the crafty blogs i visit. women who are being creative and doing what their hearts' desire. baby steps...

no more wishing

i can feel it. spring is poking her pretty little head around the corner. i love spring. all those eggs and bunnies. baby ferns in the woods. chubby little buds are just waiting to burst open... i get to bring out all my pastel beauties. pink, green, yellow and blue. makes me want to buy a new skipping rope. everyday is getting longer and winter is slowly melting away. the countdown has begun......

to market to market...

stopped into this wonderful market today and was so pleased to find such a wide assortment of yummies and goodies. shops, candy store, bakery and a lunch bar with a large display of mouth watering sandwiches, salads and deserts. the bakery was full of easter cookies, pies, loaves and cakes. we all enjoyed our brunch and headed south on the highway....hoping for a little shopping spree. More to show you tomorrow!

knitting revival

my nana is a knitter. i want to be one too, but i think the gene has skipped a generation. i have taught elsie the only stitch i know and she seems to be getting the hang of it. emma prefers to crochet and she's got a lovely collection of squares done. it is such a warm and cozy craft. hopefully they'll come to love it.
