ahhhhhh that's better.....

this morning i awoke
to the sun rising up through the trees...
and that can alone can make all the difference.

it's not fair to say that the grayness of yesterday
was the sole reason for my down in the dumps mood...
i also blame it on taking down the christmas tree,
a full blown case of plantar fasciitis (aka..ouchie foot)
and i should also include a touch of pms...

what a beautiful day today turned out to be!
boo and i hit the ski hill after lunch
and that bright sun felt SO great...

i was so thankful to have zero pain in my foot.
apparently i should just wear my ski boots more often...

and i'm not sad about the christmas tree anymore...
 totally over it.

sunshine and fresh crisp winter air
is great for what ails you...
fresh cut fries at the chalet help too...
especially if you get an orange crush to go with them.

aren't i right boo?

days together...

i took many beautiful photos of our holiday. sunsets, beaches, birds and palm trees. i'm not going to post them today. the girls may raise a fuss, but that's fine with me. these are the photos that will always make me smile when i remember the funny moments together.

look how cute this little guy is. elsie picked him out of the crowd on the first day of the cruise and we met up with him again when he was all dressed up...don't they make a fantastic pair?

two chickies in the back of the convertible. those florida folks could see us tourists coming. it was not warm enough to have the top down...but we had the heat cranked and it was bearable.

this one for sure will not go over well, but i may never have this chance again. peaceful resting cherubs...no bickering, no nattering...ahhhhhhhh.......lovely..........

everyone fell out but me. it never got old. very, very funny to watch. so these are the silly moments. my kids were acting like kids. as a matter of fact i think the mom and dad did too! we planned on it being a special holiday, we splurged a little. the weather wasn't perfect everyday, but we didn't really mind. we hung out, we entertained each other and we laughed a lot. it was awesome. xo

busy having fun

Elsie doing her hip hop...recital went well. She's a natural performer! Love to watch her dance...

A couple weekends ago we had a little stay-cation...into Algonquin Park for the day. We pretended to be tourists. It was a really great day. No rush to be anywhere...no plans to follow.

Emma is very dramatic. She should be an actress. Doesn't it really look like she's sufferin' in that pot???!! I know...impressive!.......
I thought I'd share this one of Elsie at her badminton tournament...she was ready to kick some butt on the court!

Summer is coming!! I have a new job...gotta run!

SO GLAD it's March...

this has been the longest winter ever... and let me add that i AM a northern girl...i love snow and i love this season, but wow...i think we might have another full month of this. we get kinda giddy when we talk about spring around here. our eyes get all sparkly and we make promises to each other. like...i promise....i swear that when the weather gets warmer i am going to do EVERYTHING outside...i promise......

an extra wintery winter has let us get things accomplished around here. we are motivated to get it done so that this summer we can actually take it easy......relax and enjoy it more. emma i am sorry for posting this photo. thank you for your help. you did a great job girls!

other things have been let go for a while. now i have little laundry piles all over the house. most of them are clean clothes. they can wait until the big jobs are finished. i am excited to be done...well not done done. just more done. i don't think this place will ever be totally done. it doesn't have to be perfect to be a home. i love saying that. and i say it a lot..........

cabin fever

i've got the fever. january is such a long month. i'm not one of those people who gets down during these shortened days of winter. instead i get anxious. if it wasn't so darn cold out, i'd be playing on that hill over there. i know the days are getting longer and i am hopeful that they'll get warmer too. just warm enough to ski without a hat on...'cause i don't do hats. i am more of a woolly headband kind of girl......anyway......the sun IS shining today. that's a good thing. i do get some relief when a nice warm bundle of clothes comes out of the dryer....i love the "brights" load best don't you? i am still in the planning stages for my new blog design (and my little computer wiz is in the middle of exams) i still am overwhelmed with all the options. maybe i should have a few to choose from...........alrighty then, got to get stuff done. today i will have the tv on all day...because i have a little crush on that barack guy. it's a good day.
