let's pretend...

...that it's springtime in muskoka. the grey clouds have passed over and the sun is out again, but we are looking out at a winter wonderland. please, please...can this be over now?  

i love this vase. it was tucked away in nana's basement and i had always admired it. i finally asked about it and she said "oh that old thing?...you can have it" i'm not sure she knew how giddy it made me. i told her i loved it and she explained that it was something papa had brought home to her once. she was guessing around the 1940's. 

i still have to go buy a ham and all the fixin's...my neck is a bit better...the snow is melting and i am looking forward to 4 days with the family (well 3 with hubby) i think we're going to be building something this weekend!! Happy Easter and go easy on the chocolate...xoxoxo

hippity hoppity.... i've got to go buy a ham! little boo was home sick today, i wasn't feeling so hot either. giant kink in my neck. probably has something to do with the 2 hour tour of blogland i took yesterday. it's endless.


this is my new bunny. she was a little birthday gift to myself. growing up i received many of these spring inspired sweeties. i have a fondness for woolly lambs too. who doesn't?!?

april snow brings....

i spent the day cleaning the house and catching up on the never ending laundry pile. i tried not to look out the window. it snowed all day. it's still snowing. it's going to snow for the next TWO days. 

oh well. there is nothing i can do about it. but on the BRIGHT side......... 

our chandelier is finally hanging in the tiny studio and it is perfect isn't it? 

we love being in this room....it helps to make up for the crazy weather. 

hurry up and spring...

i am ready for it. i need it. today it is raining again. yes better than snow, but guess what? more of that is in the forecast... 

so let's just focus on the pastels shall we? the lovely pale shades. they can really cheer up a grey day like today. i can be all serious with chocolate brown and deep cherry red, but my alter ego is a sucker for soft pinks and greens. i have no control over it. a lesson to share: when we were first married i was convinced we needed a sea-foam green sofa. someone talked me out of it. thanks mom. so...many years later we finally did buy a sofa. brown. my point here. don't spend the big bucks on big stuff that satisfies your alter ego. make those the little things. things you can store easily or take to the thrift shop without a trailer on the back of your car...

ok. so she strongly dislikes this photo. but someday she will be glad we have it. both girls have begun ortho treatments. it has started with a device which widens the pallet. do you see the gap?? it's only been a bit more than a week...holy cow eh?

and i don't even know what to do with this, but i could not leave them at the store. i said ok...you'll be coming home with me thank you very much. feeling springy? ME TOO xo
