discovering...day 20

everyone has experienced being hurt
by the actions or words of another.
most people have lasting feelings of anger and/or sadness.

if you are a highly sensitive person
the wounds are that much deeper
and the pain is that much more difficult to live with.

forgiveness is a bitter pill,
but it is one of the most important actions to take.
forgiveness means that you make a decision
to let go of resentment.
hsp, because they relive, over think
and feel such strong emotions,
must learn to forgive.
it has to be a choice and the effort needs to be made.

forgiveness doesn't mean that you deny the other person's
responsibility for hurting you
and it doesn't minimize or justify the wrong.
you can forgive the person
without excusing the act.

there are great health benefits to forgiving.
lower blood pressure,
less stress,
fewer symptoms of depression,
anxiety and chronic pain...
and a lower risk of alcohol or substance abuse.

forgiveness is an act of caring for yourself...
it is our responsibility to take control of our life.
