dogs are like people. they come in all shapes, sizes, colours and temperaments. they can also fall under the personalty trait of "Highly Sensitive". about 20% of all animals do... even fruit flies! |

most dog owners don't have a lot of knowledge about sensitive dogs... i know i didn't. |

these dogs need plenty of opportunity to do well and receive rewards so that their confidence can grow. they need a bit longer to learn trust. any negative reactions will harm them, they only respond well to positive rewards. |

these sweet dogs learn very quickly, they are tuned into their environment and they can read their owners like a book. |

a gentle touch, quiet and calm surroundings... and take care because it's so easy to damage the HSDog... i wish i'd known this when he arrived... but when we know better, we do better. i'm not sure he'll be making a trip back to that noisy dog kennel ever again. i know it kind of freaked him out and changed his nature. xox tomorrow.... how about we learn about HSP and intuition? |

Ok I got it re: HSP and I am one of them... as is my horse, and both my beagles were like this as well... they can read my mood without me doing ANYTHING. LOL!
My husband who tends to speak in a very loud voice, basically yelling without meaning to or being mad, never gets why that is so stressful to me... HSP
I know my daughter is a HSP it is like u r writing about her. This is so amazingly perfect for us right now. Thanks Leanne
Our dear Martha was a sensitive girl and I remember one visit to a new groomer changed her personality forever. She was such a smart thing - she remembered everything (including knowing a huge basket full of toys by individual name) and could sense so much in that cute little head of hers. xo
