a very lengthy, random...and scatterbrained post

i've been having trouble
getting my thoughts organized enough to blog.
maybe it's because i'm anxious for spring...
and there's still sooo much snow out there.
(it's snowing right this minute)

or maybe it's just 'cause life is happenin'...
it seems like before i know it
a holiday has arrived
and lately i am late to the party.
good thing emma was feeling festive,
we kinda recognized st patty's day.
(mike and the girls ARE a little irish after all)

the last of the christmas/winter decor was taken down
(like yesterday)
i feel bad actually,
i should have taken my
"let it snow" sign
down a month ago.
i feel responsible some how.
(sorry for the long winter)
***
i hung some art...
extending my collection.
i like it.

scooped up this little vintage print
at the second hand store.
it's not so "pink" in real life.
more beige...

my 6 year old fridge died.
that makes me sad.
it's still all new and shiny and everything.
these things happen...

i bought a spring chick...
to help hurry things along.
kind of cath kidsonish i think.

and sometimes...
you can find a really nice scarf at walmart.
so pretty that i will continue to display it.

and yep...another one found a home.

also...in an effort to feel fresh and springy...
this will happen perhaps today...or tomorrow.
(anything to encourage me to NOT cut my own hair again)

did some spring cleaning in the bedroom
and found the top of my dresser...

and nightstand...

i have picked up some new pieces for my closet.
...because i start A NEW JOB soon...
it is kind of a perfect job.
kind of my dream job.
i. am. so. excited.
(probably another reason for my anxiety these days)

more good news...
target opened last week.
(brand new to canada)
i love it i love it i love it.
held back and only bought a couple items...
like this shower curtain.
i had to have the shower curtain.
i love it.
(i'm kind of addicted to shower curtains)

and finally, my last reason for feeling a little crazy.
as i type this...
my emma is on a train.
she has left england and is on her way to belgium...

then more backpacking through europe.
for 2 months...

up until a few days ago
this mama was having a very, very hard time with the idea
of missing and worrying about her girl.
but...
she's with a friend.
internet is wonderful.
she is smart.
i sent her with food
and money
and everything else she could possibly need.

i am now in the "happy/excited for her" phase.
i know this will be a wonderful trip.

it's weird not having her here.
i don't want to make her bed...
because that would make me miss her more.
so things will just remain as she left them.

because for once...
i can stop time.
kind of.

Lots happening on your side of the world - you have only just taken down the Xmas decorations? You naughty lass! I hope you have a wonderful Easter in the Spring sunshine x

You must tell us more about your new job :) I didn't realize that your daughter would be gone for two months! I think I would be feeling the same! Mine is going to visit her sister in June for two weeks, and I was getting concerned! She is after all 23 and is going with her boyfriend! Of course that is what we moms do though, worry! Then I laugh thinking that at 23 I was married already and had my first baby!!!

Love the shower curtain that you got at Target. Is that the new "Threshold line?" I miss using shower curtains. The house that we are in now has the shower stalls and no need for a shower curtain in the larger tub :(

Gosh Mother Nature is being nasty this year, isn't she? My family in Timmins is absolutely buried!
I love your art wall and new duds - I'd love to work there - I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Did Target open in Huntsville or Bracebridge? I LOVE Target.
Lucky Emma to be travelling through Europe. How I would have loved to do that but mommy said no. That's something she'll treasure her whole life.
I hope the snow starts melting, the birds start chirping and the flowers start poking their heads up soon. xo
