white tree

today the little white tree began it's transformation.
woodland...pinecones, deer, hummingbirds and dragonflies...

and we knew there'd be blue...

...and glitter too...

but somewhere along the way
we decided that "vintage" had to be there also...

so we added some very old hot pink, soft pink,
red and blue glass ornaments.
this tree may not be finished quite yet...
because you just never know!
***
tree tips!
-pick a theme
-choose colours
-vary the ornament size
-hang smaller ones mostly in the top half
and the larger mostly in the bottom half
-remember to hang some deeper into the tree

well look at that...december is here!

oliver is settling into the season...
spending a few extra hours a day napping.

we had this very pretty sunset the other night...
mid sentence i squealed and ran for my camera.
elsie was confused....oliver had a bark attack.
i captured the pink sky.
:)

snow arrived...
and so we pulled out the winter gear.

sunny mornings with fresh fallen snow are the best.
you can't possibly be grumpy about anything.

and then....it snowed again....

allie hasn't switched over to her winter habits yet...
still wants her breakfast out on the porch.

my friend jane asked me to blog about my christmas decor.
she says she needs help.
i say...it's easy!
so, this month i will go through the steps i take
to get my house
into the christmas mood.

first you need to come up with a plan,
make a list.
walk around and decide where you want to decorate.
pick a theme (or a few...like me)
this year our living room will have the white tree again,
but a slightly different theme from last year.
this time...

adding a bit of aqua blue...
"glitter woodland avec blue"
you can change things up just by adding
a few new ornaments...
and you don't have to spend a bunch of money.

these are just plastic cheapies...
you could just find some real pinecones
and paint them...add some glitter!
good to go!

as of this morning the rain has arrived...
and the snow has melted away,
but christmas is coming
so i won't let it dampen my spirits...
lots more decorating to come!
