pretty in pink

remember that sweet girl of mine? the one in the polka dots? well she is turning ten in a few days, so of course ALL we have been talking about is THE PARTY! we were all set to have a picnic theme, but elsie is the little planner here and she has every right to change her mind as many times as she wants. after a little research she thought of having a PRETTY IN PINK PARTY. i cannot tell you how happy i am about this decision. i loved the movie, i love the colour. i love that i still have a girl young enough to think that pink is wonderful. we bought all sorts of lovely pink things. hats, balloons, plates, paper lanterns, bubble gum, lip gloss, key chains and flowers. what did we do before dollar stores?
emma still thinks pink is "awsome".... awsome.... she is 13 1/2. she is so not interested in a pink party though. instead, she wants a pink dress for her grade 8 grad. we went and bought the fabric and her favorite pattern. it said easy on the front. i am all for that. i will start it as soon as the PRETTY IN PINK PARTY is over. i will need all the time i can get. what the heck was i thinking?

I loved that movie too! I saw it not too long ago with Caitlin and she had fun laughing at the clothing. She kept asking me if when I first saw it in the 80's if it look normal! Of course it did :)
The party sounds like it is going to be so cute.
Caitlin tried on a 1950's vintage prom dress at a friends antique store and now she wants it! Guess what color it is....Pink of course :) Their prom theme is old Hollywood glamor, how perfect is that?!
Hope you post some pictures of the party.
