other people's junk..

we've been popping into our local
second hand stores a little more frequently...
yesterday i spotted this.
i called it a daybed.
checked it out closely
and discovered it had a secret...

she was hiding a trundle bed...
and i got kinda excited.
when i went back to the store today,
the clerk called it a "studio sofa".
(that sounds sooo much cooler...)

her oranges and greens are growing on me...
my plan is to recover her,
but it matches our "orange room" perfectly for now.
elsie hung out with her as soon
as we got her settled in.
on our ride home with her
abba played on the radio...
"take a chance on me".
we feel like we adopted her...

hopefully she'll get her makeover by spring.

for some reason
we found lots of goodies that
are mostly from the 60's and 70's
pretty ruffle edged plexi tray...

kitten paint-by-number...
on velvet!

really cool plastic owl...napkin holder.
it will be so cute on emma's desk
next year at university...
:)

a vintage sheet...
i love them.
they are so soft...

another pup.

another sheet.

another pup.

when friends visit
they often ask how i made our house so homey.
the secret is simple.
find things that you love.
bring them home.
your personality will begin to show...
one treasure at a time.

What a fun vibe :) I think vintage things give a house a little bit of soul.

Awesome finds! Which store did you manage to score all of that from? I used to love rummaging around the Habitat Store in Bracebridge. :)
